… is a Juno winning composer, filmmaker, singer-songwriter, and actor. While simultaneously helming his stellar solo career, he’s made time to discover or produce many artists including Ron Sexsmith, Bob Snider and others. A lifetime achievement award winner from CBC Radio 3, he’s played with Feist, Edie Brickell, The Hidden Cameras and a list of artists that read like a who’s who of international music.
“Quite possibly a genius…”, Bob is also no stranger to theatre and comedy, having collaborated with Scott Thompson on his show Scottastrophe and with Anand Rajaram on the award-winning Cowboys and Indians. Seriously, check out the Wikipedia entry on this guy!
HELDER BRUM
In a city where “alternative comedy” is mainstream, it’s no small feat for someone to come along and actually create a true “alternative” comedy show. And yet, with ‘The Garage Show’, Helder has done just that. The show, held in the secret location of his parent’s garage somewhere in Toronto, is both elusive and exclusive. It’s like finding The Batcave, and has hosted some of Toronto’s finest comedians. Helder is also the producer of ‘Helder Brum and Friends’ podcast and a founding member of ‘The Sketchersons’. He can be found performing all over the city when he isn’t making award-winning claymation videos. (No awards were ever actually won.)
